      Dr. Lord is the best eye doctor I've ever had. She's thorough, very clear and detailed in her explanations, very caring of her patients' eye comfort and treatment success, and overall a wonderfully kind person.

      I've struggled with contacts, changing prescriptions, and chronic dry eye, and her treatment has helped me so much (better quality contacts, special drops for a couple weeks, and thorough exams for accurate diagnoses and prescriptions). I've always come to Lickteig as an adult (previously the one in Natick) and have always found my experiences much better than anywhere else I've gone growing up! Plus the yearly optomaps are great to have for acute detection of any health risks or eye concerns.

      When I visited a few months ago for bad dry eye (successfully treated!), Dylanee (?) was so friendly and helpful at reception. Last weekend I went for annual exam for my contacts & glasses, and the receptionist was so efficient and friendly (girl with clear glasses and black hair). My mother booked an appointment with the other receptionist, and was really pleased with her service and is excited to visit.

      They did a nice job with my first grader's eye exam.

      Billing and insurance issues reduce my rating. I was significantly overcharged.


      The insurance issue:
      A month before the appointment I had their billing department confirm they took my insurance. They took my insurance card info and called back a few hours later saying that only Dr Lord was in my network.

      At the appointment, they couldn't run my insurance and insisted I was out of network and charged my significantly more than I should have, despite my bringing up my insurer's website and showing them that Dr Lord continued to show as in network at their location.

      I didn't realize that I'd been coming here for so long, but it's been many years. I'd say that in the early years, efficiency was less on point, but they really have it down now. In addition to annual exams and contract lens fittings, I have some specialized tests that I need to get done and their technology has kept up with the field, making it easier for the patient.

      I definitely appreciate that they have students frequently, as I know how important clinical placements are for proper training and they're not always easy to secure.

      I bring my kids here as well. Between the three of us, we've seen every doctor and they're all great. We're happy customers/patients.

      I'm a satisfied customer.

      Dr. Lord and the entire staff at The Dedham office have been amazing and I really can't recommend them enough they were thorough, friendly and very caring about my eye infection

      I had taken my son here a couple of years ago and loved the doctor who treated him. That doctor is no longer here, I decided to go ahead and book an appointment for myself. The initial doctor that saw me was not able to see me for my follow up appointment for my contact lense fitting so I figured it would be fine. I came in for my follow up appointment after my 2 week trial and was treated as if I was an idiot a complete moron and was wasting her time. Dr. Liu is her name. I placed my contacts and felt as if something was in my eye and it was bothering me irritating my eye. I looked and I have a little bubble on my lower eyelid. Dr. Liu comes in and I can tell she wants to get the visit over and done with, she tries to convince me that it's part of my anatomy and that it was there before. I tried to explain it was not but she wasn't having it. She asked me to remove the contacts then asked me to place them back in. She gave me no explanation of anything I told her how I felt but her apology was not sincere and very dismissive. I reluctantly made another appointment to be seen again and I'm scheduled with another doctor. I really wish this Dr. Liu was more of a doctor and gave me directions on how or what to do with my eye. Not sure if I should go back.

      The bubble that I did not know was there until I placed the contacts in at the clinic.

      I've never written a review on Yelp but I am appalled at the way Lickteig eye care showed a lack of patient care. I was a new patient and Had my first contact exam with them. First they gave me a wrong contact prescription where I couldn't see at all so they told me to go back to my original prescription that my previous doctor gave me. Unfortunate for me, my previous doctor retired. They had me come back in to change my prescription. Who knows if it's right now but It was like pulling teeth to have them email my contact prescription to me. I asked several times and they said they would but did not. Out of sheer desperation I knew the only way I would get my contacts is to order from them. I was right. I had recently called twice needing an extra month because I was unable to come in due to family obligations but would make an appointment. There was no way that they were going to give me that set I needed before an appointment. They absolutely sabotage a patient every inch of the way. Its been a year and they never gave me a copy of the prescription. i am happy to say I am no longer a patient of theirs and have found an office that actually cares about their patients.

      Like always .. I waited until I ran out of contact lenses.. I called around and no one had them in stock .. I called Lickteig and Lindsay was nice enough to offer to see if she had a trial pair. She quickly told me that she would hold it for me. When I arrived she had it with her at the reception desk. She gave me the trial pair to use while I waited for my contacts to arrive . Two days later; they called me to pick up my contacts .. Problem solved . Thank you for the excellent service.

      Walked in and was seen right away. Dr. provided me with quick and direct consultation that helped me get in and out quickly with what I needed.
      Front desk staff could benefit from understanding insurance coverage better.

      Sorry but this was the first and last time for this place. Inexperienced tech, terrible exam, wrong prescription. Just didn't work for me. Glad others had better luck.

      I am one of those people who wait until 12/31/2013 to get my eyes checked so I can use my vision benefits to order a new batch of contact lenses before they expire on 1/1/2014... Yes, I am definitely all eyecare practices' nightmare. However!! This place completely exceeded my expectation by being super patient and completely understanding. Yes, understanding of my disorganized, last minute chaos mess.

      I made the appointment online (very easy to use). Select the time you want and bam, you get a confirmation in your e-mail. Don't you hate it when the site asks you to fill in all of your information (personal, insurance, primary doctor, etc) and then when you show up at the practice, they ask you to fill out a form asking the same information ALL OVER again? Well! Good news people, this is not the case. When they said fill out a form online to expedite the process, it's for reals. I showed up, filled out a simple form, and got seated in the exam room within 5 minutes.

      I got assigned to see Dr. Nicole Pongue. She is seriously the nicest eye doctor ever. I told her the reason I came here is to get more contacts (you can't refill them unless you have an up to date prescription) and she did not judge me at all. She and another colleague did a comprehensive test on my eyes and confirmed I can use monthly contact lenses instead of biweekly ones. Dr. Pongue was so patient and answered all of my questions. I told her with my insurance benefits, I would like to order the maximum amount of contacts with the minimum amount of out of pocket. Most practices will stare at me with 2 heads and think I'm insane because that's a crazy request. BUT! They were willing to do all the math, break down the 2 options (monthly contacts or biweekly contacts) and tell me the best deal I could get.

      This is awesome customer service!! They care about ME, my eyes and listen to what I have to say. They know I am in a time crunch on 12/31/2013 but they were willing to accommodate.

      I always thought it's not worth it to see a eye doctor annually but because of this practice, I think it's so worth it to come back!!
